Short Ideas

This post is all about making use of simple ideas to create something yummy. I love experimenting with food, and I think this post is going to be updated every once in a while, because I always seem to forget to take a picture to show you what I'm up to.

The Creamachino

Creamachino
This is what I call the creamachino, and basically it's strong coffee with a big dollop of whipped cream and some blue sprinkles on top. I had some cream left, but not enough for ice cream or any other idea I had. So whipped up the cream (added some sugar), made some strong coffee and topped it up with whipped cream. The sprinkles is optional, but it does make the creamachino look more fun.

Add Chilli To Anything Chocolate

I love chocolate, but I love chocolate more when a little chilli is added. The trick is to add enough to make you feel warm and not to burn the taste buds right off your tongue. Like these chocolate cupcakes I made, I added about 2 teaspoons of dried crushed chillies in a mixture that makes 12 cupcakes. And if you have the gadgets, crush the dried chillies further with a mortar and pestle, this will bring out the chilli flavour even more.

Passion Fruit Cupcake

Some time ago passion fruit was on special, and this is absolutely one of my favourite fruits, followed by the dragon fruit. This is really easy to make, and all you need is either your own favourite vanilla cupcake recipe or some box premixed vanilla cupcake. Add about three to four passion fruits' puree in the raw cupcake mix, and bake per instructions. The icing is made again from about 2 passion fruits' puree. Add some lemon juice to keep the icing from being too sweet and this also brings out the passion fruit flavour.
